Biography of Artist Roger Frey - 2007
Roger Frey is a
painter and draughtsman. His current
gallery affiliation is Gallery West of Alexandria, Virginia. He is also proud to be associated with the
Prince William Art Society and the Manassas Art Guild. In addition to portrait commissions and art
sales, his commercial experience includes newspaper and magazine illustrations.
Recent work has been his beloved Virginia landscape depicted in paintings and small black and white etchings. He pulls these prints by hand on high quality paper from a small Richeson printing press.
He also does experimental projects, thoughtful analyses into commonplace objects, such as a series of 22 pieces entitled, “Jars of Relativity-an Exploration of an Idea.” and a project based on a recently extinguished candle, entitled, “A Moment in Time and Space.”
Roger Frey was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1946, received a Bachelor’s Degree in Drawing and Painting at California State University at Long Beach, and studied at the Academia di Belle Arti in Florence, Italy.
