Patricia A. Dixon:

Art has always been a part of my life.  As a child I could spend hours drawing and coloring. Art was not something offered in school because of following the college prep courses. It was not until I was married with a house full of children that I enrolled in classes at New York University and took art courses in pursuit of a BA degree.

Later we moved to Virginia and I finished my degree at George Mason U while working full time and raising a family. There was still little time to actually create fine art. I worked as a graphic artist until I retired.  Since retirement I have work on learning and becoming a complete artist.

I had worked at the Torpedo Art League as a volunteer docent and gallery worker. Now I concentrate as an artist at ArtBeat Gallery and with the Prince William Art Society.

I have participated in many shows and won some awards.  But the best reward has been able to work in my home studio and create paintings, collages, or drawings that may bring others almost as much enjoyment as it is for me to create.
