My compulsion to make art can be traced to creating sock dolls around the age of 4 and constantly drawing. Art classes were rewards among the "real" classes. The "real" classes led to a BA in liberal arts, an MS in management information systems, and graduation from the Advanced Program Management Course at the Defense Systems Management College. Reward courses included two in design, one in color theory, multiple drawing courses, two pottery classes, and one water color class. Everything was preparation for the stained glass class in 2001 when I found my medium. To improve glass skills, I've taken courses in lamp-making, advanced glass design, tips and techniques, and lead construction. Currently I am learning glass painting and fusing from books. The panels and three-dimensional objects I design and fabricate come from my imagination and from clients. It is hugely rewarding to create a panel of personal significance to another human.
