Donna Turgeon
(703) 250-2124
Dr. Donna Turgeon (née
DeMoranville) is a scientist, author, and artist. She has a Doctorate Degree in
marine ecology from the University of New Hampshire, a Masters Degree in
biological oceanography from the College of William and Mary, and an Associate
of Arts Degree from Northern Virginia Community College.
Although a recent member
of Prince William Art Society (PWAS), Donna has been with the Fairfax Art
League for about a decade. For the next two years, she will serve as PWAS
Treasurer.
Recently retired as an
oceanographer with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Donna
now has more time to create art. Whether using charcoal, watercolor, pastels,
acrylics, or mixed media, she renders her subjects intimately within their
environment. Her paintings of flowers, wildlife, old working fishing vessels,
landscapes, seascapes, or pets tell a story. Her animals stare out of the
canvas as though alive.
