Teresa Ahmad is a native Virginian. Raised in Vienna, and recently moved to Woodbridge in 2009. She went to Virginia Commonwealth University and studied with published illustrators and graphic designers. She received a BFA in Communications Art and Design, with emphasis in illustration.
For the last fifteen-plus years, she has worked behind the scenes in public relations, advertising, marketing and radio. Since 2005 she has taken on the role as Director of the Vienna Art Society’s Art Center.
Teresa’s portfolio primarily consists of artwork in acrylics with a “contemporary” style, however she is starting to branch out and “loosen up.” She works in pen & ink with the subjects being more architectural. She creates pastel renderings with a more realistic approach and commissions for portraits. She continues to design marketing tools, including logos, for companies and organizations.
Teresa is associated with the Vienna Arts Society as honorary member and Art Center Director. She has also received membership into the Artisans United group. 2010 will continue her move forward joining other art groups such as Prince William Art Society. She is hopeful to become a Signature Member with the American Society of Marine Artists, however she is a Regular Member at this time. She is considering joining more art groups as she continues to market and consult some of these groups and individual artists.
